Chris’s official vision is to be a global God-fearing businessman born to change the world.
Chris Pretorius was born on 17 September 1992 in Johannesburg, South Africa. His father worked as a corporate financier for Deloitte; his mother studied Mathematics at university. Chris has a young brother, Marco.
Upon graduating as the top matriculant in South Africa with 10 distinctions and placing on the IEB Outstanding Achievements List, Chris enrolled at the University of Cape Town and is expected to graduate summa cum laude at the end of 2014 with a triple major in Finance, Economics and Statistics (God-willing).
Chris has represented South Africa in chess and is a former South African Chess Champion. In 2010 he was selected as part of the Gauteng Tennis Training Squad. Whilst at university, Chris was the Class Representative of 10 courses at University, covering more than 1200 students and started study groups on campus. Companies he has worked at whilst studying include Citi (M&A), Deloitte (Corporate Finance), Agis Investments (an infrastructure private equity firm), Coast2Coast Investments (a $250 million private equity firm) and Horizon Equity Partners (a $60m PE and growth capital firm – South Africa’s 2nd oldest independent PE firm).
Chris Pretorius leads an active lifestyle, and takes an interest in tennis, surfing and soccer.
